What an absolutely fantastic Gala Weekend celebrating Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games!

What an absolutely fantastic Gala Weekend celebrating Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the events.

From the Gala Day itself, to the Barn Dance which welcomed over 200 members of our community, and the sporting events on Sunday, it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying themselves and coming together.

One of the biggest highlights was seeing members of our community meeting for the very first time, new friendships being formed, and everyone enjoying the sense of community that we had hoped for when planning the weekend. It really was a wonderful reminder of what can be achieved when people come together.

A very special thank you goes to Stewart and Amy MacPherson and their family, particularly Davie. Not only did they generously provide the barn, field and parking facilities, but they also put in a huge amount of effort behind the scenes, moving animals and equipment and making countless arrangements to ensure the events could take place. We are incredibly grateful for everything they did.

We would also like to thank our amazing Events Committee and all of the volunteers who helped with setting up, supporting the events and tidying up afterwards. This weekend was led by the Events Committee, but it simply would not have been possible without the incredible support from volunteers and members of our community. We really appreciate every bit of help that was given.

Thank you to M&S Inverness, Morrisons Inverness Community Champions and Tesco for their generous food donations for the Teddy Bears' Picnic, which helped make it such a special event for the children and families who attended.

Finally, huge thanks go to The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland and National Lottery players for providing the grant that helped make this wonderful weekend possible.

Thank you all for helping create such a memorable weekend. The community spirit on display was incredible, and we hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did.

Work with Stratherrick & Foyers Community Trust

We are currently recruiting a part-time (12 to 15 hours per week) Financial Manager to join our small team, based in the Wildside Centre in Whitebridge, Inverness. Specifically, this role will focus on ensuring sound financial management and compliance through accurate budgeting, reporting, and financial planning, thus contributing to the sustainability and efficient operation of the Trust and our community services, projects and activities.

We are looking for a fully qualified CCAB or CIMA accountant with experience of Financial Management for a small rural Community Development Trust. As this is a senior role you will need to make an immediate contribution using your experience and organisational skills to ensure financial processes are performed accurately and to the established timescale. To this end, experience of QuickBooks would be an advantage, but training can be given.

In addition to having a professional, friendly and dynamic nature, you will need excellent communication skills both face to face and electronic as well as flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving needs. Good team working skills are essential as you may be operating remotely from your manager and other members of the Team.

Although the Team is based in Whitebridge, we can accommodate the role as either remote, hybrid or at Whitebridge. The contracted hours of work will not, normally, involve evening or weekend working, however, there is an expectation that the role will be present at the Trust’s Annual General Meeting in November.

To apply, please send a current CV and a supporting statement, outlining how you meet the required skills and competences from the job description, to admin@sfctrust.org.uk by the closing date: 23:59hrs on Sunday 30th August 2026.
